Michigan beats Michigan Tech 3-2 in OT

Despite giving up a two goal lead Michigan was able to right the ship in overtime with a 3-2 victory over Michigan Tech Friday night from Yost.

Phil Di Giuseppe gave Michigan a 1-0 lead in the first before Luke Moffatt gave the Wolverines a 2-0 cushion in the second.

However some special teams blunders both on the penalty kill and power play resulted in a tie score heading in the third period. First Michigan Tech was able to get on the board with a power play goal from Blake Pietila followed by a shorthanded tally via Cj Eick in the final minutes of the second.

After a scoreless third Andrew Copp was able to seal the victory for Michigan at the 3:26 mark of the overtime period.

Zach Nagelvoort made 34 saves in the win while Michigan managed 43 shots in total. On the power play Michigan went 0/4 while Michigan Tech went 1/5.
