Earlier in the week pictures surfaced of Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner getting off the plane in Phoenix using crutches and wearing a walking boot. Immediately from there speculation started as to what exactly happened to Gardner and if presumed future starter Shane Morris would get the call in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl December 28th against Kansas State.

Well as it turns out, Shane Morris will indeed get the start for the Wolverine in their 2013 finale but whats even more remarkable is the latest news on Gardner.

According to Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports, Gardner suffered a broken foot in the third quarter of the Wolverines 42-41 loss to Ohio State on November 30th. What’s amazing about that is Gardner continued to play and led Michigan to three straight touchdowns while almost beating what was thought to be the best team in the Big Ten at the time.

Gardner finished the game going 32 of 45 for 451 yards and four touchdown passes. This also doesn’t include his one rushing touchdown.
