Mitch McGrady, the 6-foot-10, 250-pound center/forward of Brewster Academy in New Hampshire and one of the nations hottest recruits could bypass college for the NBA. This is according to a report from Peegs.com. However the notion of skipping college for the NBA isn’t something McGrady is currently thinking about.

So where did the rumor come from?

Peegs.com reports that by the 2012 NBA Draft he will be more than a year removed from high school graduation and 20 years old. Peegs.com probably believes that the nostalgia of the NBA could end up luring the highly talented McGrady.

His high school coach however doesn’t believe this is in McGrady’s plans…

“To my knowledge, Mitch has not even thought about or contemplated going from Brewster Academy directly to the NBA,” Brewster coach Jason Smith said.

McGrady recently wrote on his blog for ESPN that he plans on visiting the University of Michigan next month after narrowing his college possibilities to Michigan, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Maryland and Florida.
