After being ranked 16th in the nation prior to the start of the season, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have had another lackluster start to the year. And with another poor start to the season, head coach Brian Kelly may already be on the hot seat.

The South Bend Tribune discusses the troublesome situation that the Irish have found themselves in…

“It was the latest that an opponent has scored a touchdown to beat Notre Dame – ever. A milestone with an awful memory. Losses like this can be crushing,” said the Tribune. “Besides allowing the sky to fall in the final 15 minutes, the Irish did little to prove last week’s loss to South Florida was a fluke. Five turnovers – again – made the defensive disaster even more debilitating. This latest bit of frustration went beyond stage fright. It can;t be chalked up to a team succumbing to intimidation. They were just terrible.”

The schedule doesn’t get any easier for Notre Dame either. Coming up Notre Dame has Michigan State, Pitt and Air Force.
