Eastern upsets Michigan 45-42

Eastern Michigan pulled off a huge upset Tuesday night defeating crosstown rival Michigan 45-42 from Crisler.

EMU’s Jordan Price led the way with 11 points as the Eagles shot just 15/46 from the field. However it was Eastern’s nine offensive rebounds that helped lift EMU over the Wolverines for the first time since 1997. Additionally the Eagles held Michigan to their lowest point total since February 10th, 2009 in a 54-42 loss to Michigan State. Furthermore tonight becomes the first time since last February that Michigan has lost back-to-back regular season games. Although instead of dropping two straight to Wisconsin and Michigan State (like they did last February) this time U-M has lost two straight to NJIT and Eastern.

In terms of Michigan’s shooting, they also were also extremely cold on the night going 14/43 from the field for .326 percent. Zak Irvin and Caris LeVert both had 10 points in the loss while Derrick Walton Jr. added 9 points.
