The biggest question surrounding the Michigan basketball program heading into 2011 was how would they replace Darius Morris?

The answer to that question is Trey Burke who finally got on the floor Monday night against Towson after missing his first start because of being late to practice.

With Burke’s presence, Michigan fans got a glimpse of the future as Burke’s 13 points helped Michigan earn a 64-47 win over Towson.

The game however wasn’t even that close as Michigan’s defense held Towson without a basket until the 10:34 mark in the first half. Michigan’s offense capitalized on this by starting out the game with a 21-0 run.

Michigan continued its dominance in the second half as they scored the first six points on their way to a 43-16 advantage.

Tim Hardaway Jr. added 15 points and Evan Smotrycz 13 for Michigan. Next up for the Wolverines is Western Illinois on Thursday before heading Maui for the championship round of the tournament, which begins Monday against Memphis.
