On Friday, Michigan head coach Brady Hoke was a guest on the Dan Patrick Radio Show where he said his pregame speech to his players prior to their game with Notre Dame will be conventional.

Patrick also asked the coach for a preview of the speech that he will give in his first big rivalry game as the Wolverine’s head coach.

“We’re going to talk about a great rivalry, a national rivalry, that since 1978 is 13-13-1, so it tells you about the competitive nature of it,” Hoke said. “We’re going to talk tonight about the competitive nature of it, some of the great players who have made plays within this rivalry and guys playing their best football, and we’re going to talk about our fronts, both offensively and defensively. The game is controlled by how we control the front on both sides of the ball.”

Patrick then intervened and wondered if any yelling would be done by Hoke during the speech…

“No, I’m not going to yell, I can promise you that,” Hoke said. “They’re going to understand the expectation for a Michigan football player and how they need to play.”

Brady Hoke leads his team into what has become a bigger than usual match up with Notre Dame given that it will be the first night game in Big House history.
