Four of five Wolverines scored in double figures as Michigan defeated Rutgers 68-64 on the road for John Beilien‘s 500th career division one win.

Zak Irvin led the way for the Wolverines with 16 points while Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman followed that up with 14 points.

Up 35-28 at the half, Michigan was outscored in the second 36-33 and lost the lead with 7:58 remaining the game after C.J. Getty‘s jumper gave Rutgers a 52-51 lead. However D.J. Wilson‘s bucket from beyond arc with 5:50 left gave the Wolverines a 57-56 advantage and would eventually hold on to win without looking back.

Sitting on the NCAA Tourney bubble this was a huge win for Michigan considering they haven’t been the best road team all season. Next up for Michigan is a home date with 14th ranked Purdue before hitting the road again for their final two of the regular season against Northwestern and Nebraska.
