Kameron Chatman is probably transferring from Michigan

Kameron Chatman, the hero during Michigan’s Big Ten Tournament upset of Indiana is probably transferring from the program.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman first reported that Chatman was pretty much gone unless there was a ‘last minute change of heart’

The Detroit Free Press’ Mark Snyder further noted that if Chatman were to leave, he’d be the fourth Wolverine to transfer out of the program this offseason. Snyder also made mention that along with Aubrey Dawkins (who transferred to Central Florida) Michigan could have a huge hole to fill when it come to their wing depth off the bench with Chatman potentially gone too.

Chatman would be the fourth Wolverine to transfer this spring, joining Spike Albrecht (Purdue), Aubrey Dawkins (Central Florida) and Ricky Doyle.

Losing both Chatman along with Dawkins would be a major blow given that those were the top two wings off the bench late in the season.

Chatman, from Portland, Ore., played less as a sophomore (28 games with two starts) than as a freshman (32 games and 15 starts), and played half as many minutes. Those were disappointing numbers for a player ranked No. 27 nationally on the 247Sports.com rankings coming out of high school.

Again if Chatman leaves, Michigan would have two open scholarships heading into next season along with two open assistant positions and at least one administrative staff member according to Snyder.

Needless to say, Michigan head coach John Beilein is set up for a busy may targeting graduate wing players to fill these sudden holes.
