It was a back and fourth game between the Ball State Cardinals and Eastern Michigan Eagles, but a field goal at the end of the game put the Cardinals up for good.

Ball State’s Steven Schott’s 44-yard field goal with 9 seconds left sealed a 33-31 victory for the Cardinals at Rynearson Stadium.

Eastern Michigan was able to rush for 305 yards. Eagles QB Alex Gillett had 126, Dominique White had 83 and Dominique Sherrer had 76. Eastern also entered the game with the 15th-best rush offense in the country at 226.1 yards per game.

Despite the loss, Eastern Michigan (5-4) is still on track to have the most wins the program has seen since 1995 when they went 6-5. The Eagles are also two years removed from going 0-12 in 2009.
