Michigan beats up on Rutgers behind Brandon Peters’ debut

Perhaps Brandon Peters was the spark Michigan needed?

After another lackluster performance from John O’Korn, the freshman was inserted into the game and promptly led the Wolverines to three touchdowns on his first three possessions as Michigan beat up on Rutgers 35-14 from the Big House.

Peters finished the game going 10-of-14 for 124 yards and a touchdowns.

Meanwhile Karan Higdon had another big afternoon rushing for 158 yards on 18 carries with two scores.

Earlier on, it was a battle of defenses as both teams had trouble moving the football. However it was the Michigan D who ended up winning that battle holding the Scarlett Knights to just 195 all purpose yards.

As far as the quarterback situation goes it looks as though it’ll probably be Peters from here on out. Prior to getting yanked, O’Korn was just 3-of-6 for 13 yards and an interception. This included fumbling the snap twice which eventually led to him picking up a headset for the rest of the game.

Next up for Michigan is a home date with Minnesota next Saturday.
