Josh Grant 21 yard field goal helped propel Western Michigan to a 20-17 OT win over Eastern Michigan Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles had a chance to answer after a pair of Broncos penalties moved EMU up to the two-yard line. However Western was able to stuff Eastern on two straight chances at the end zone before Eagles kicker Paulie Fricano’s field goal try went just wide right.

Javion Franklin led the way for Western Michigan with 104-yards on the ground on 24 carries. He became the Broncos’ all-time career rusher with 4,281 yards while his 7-yard touchdown in the third quarter ties him for a school-best of 52.

Meanwhile Eagles running back Ian Eriksen had 91 yards on 23 attempts while Breck Turner had 39 yards on the ground and a touchdown.
