Michigan DT Bryan Mone to miss 2015 season with broken ankle

Michigan reportedly suffered a major loss Wednesday as reports have indicated that starting defensive tackle Bryan Mone will miss the 2015 season with a broken ankle.

Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press cited unidentified sources close to Mone’s injury who weren’t allowed to speak publicly on it while Scout.com reporter out of Utah Andrew Gorringe also mentioned the injury.

Last season in 12 appearances for Michigan, Mone recorded nine tackles, 1.5 for a loss and recovered a fumble. The potential loss of Mone could mean a shorter rotation for defensive coach Greg Mattison as things were looking up for the Michigan defensive line with Ryan Glasgow, Maurice Hurst and the 325-pound Mone.

With Mone out, Glasgow will likely be the one to get the increased playing time.
