Michigan Football Bust: Jordan Kovacs named Bo Schembechler MVP

In a pretty stunning development from Michigan’s Football Bust Monday night, fifth year senior Jordan Kovacs was named the Bo Schembechler MVP over senior quarterback Denard Robinson.

Kovacs who earned the nomination via a team vote denied Robinson a third-straight chance at the award which would’ve been the first time in the program’s history. It’s thought that Robinson fell short in this year’s voting due to the senior quarterback missing three games due to injury and was limited in the final regular season contest against Ohio State.

Kovacs though has been a huge inspiration for the Wolverines and a true leader on defense.

The former walk-on, Kovacs also becomes the first safety in 22 years to take home the award and only the third in the school’s history behind Tripp Welborne (1990) and Randy Logan (1972).
