Odom’s cast set to come off in two weeks

Even though head coach Brady Hoke declined to comment on the specifics of the injury to senior wide receiver Martavious Odoms, the cast he’s been wearing on his left arm is reportedly scheduled to come off in about two weeks.

Despite the undisclosed injury and the cast, Hoke says that Odoms is performing pretty well with it on.

“He’s actually caught the ball pretty decently, anyway,” Hoke said.

The Pahokee, Florida native who had 16 catches for 241 yards and one touchdown last year is expected to have an expanded role with the team this year after Darryl Stonum had to redshirt this season due to his second DUI.

Herron moves to weak-side linebacker

New defensive coordinator made his first known position change on defense this year by switching Brandon Herron from strong-side linebacker to weak-side linebacker. Furthermore, Mattison said Tuesday he wouldn’t hesitate to make position changes if doing so would give him a better shot at playing the best 11 players.

“Coach told me, ‘You’re the linebacker that has the brains, so it’s easy for you to make that switch and be comfortable,'” Herron said in the video. “I’m still trying to get a fit for the (weak-side), but I’m taking it a day at a time. Right now, my role is the (weak-side), and he told me that will be the best fit to get (me) on the field.”

Finally the Wolverines have a defensive coordinator at the helm you can trust. Greg Robinson always left the fans wondering.
