Michigan heading to Big Ten Tournament final after win over Minnesota

Derrick Walton scored a career high 29 points as Michigan defeated the fourth ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers 84-77 in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.

Walton, who was money from the free-throw line went 10-for-10 while falling an assist short of a double-double.

As a team, Michigan made the most of their attempts from the line going 18/22, good enough to keep the lead out of reach for Minnesota late in the second half.

Following up Walton’s big day was Mortiz Wagner who hit 17 while Zak Irvin followed up 13 points.

Michigan, who’ll play their fourth game in four days tomorrow in the Big Ten Championship game tomorrow afternoon await the winner of Wisconsin/Northwestern to learn who they’re opponent will be.
