Michigan once again took care of business in impressive fashion this afternoon beating DJ Durkin and the Maryland Terps 59-3 from the Big House.
Wilton Speight was phenomenal throwing for a career high 362 yards and three touchdowns while also setting a new school record in the first half alone.
Speight also had head coach Jim Harbaugh throwing the praises and pitching him for a Heisman Trophy.
“It’s time to throw his hat into the right” Harbaugh said after today’s game.
But Speight wasn’t the only Michigan player setting records.
Jake Butt passed Jim Mandich for the most receiving yards by a Michigan tight end hauling in five receptions for 76 yards.
Meanwhile Michigan was impressive on the ground as well with De’Veon Smith rushing for over 100 yards (114) and three touchdowns. Luckily too for the Wolverines the team didn’t have to rely so much on Jabrill Peppers offensively as the junior saw just two attempts on the ground for 19 yards. He also didn’t play much into special teams returning one kick for 14 yards which for all intents and purposes is a good thing against a team like Maryland since Harbaugh has over used Peppers like no other so far this season.
Up next for Michigan is a road test against Iowa before they return home for their final home game of the season against Indiana. After that they’ll it’ll be the big showdown with Ohio State in Columbus.
