The Kirby Smart onslaught has struck Michigan.

Wednesday, four-star linebacker Otis Reese (ranked 56th overall by 247 Sports) flipped his commitment from Michigan to Georgia striking a pretty significant blow to Michigan’s 2018 class.

Significant in the sense that Reese was Michigan’s only top-100 player for 2018 dropping their ranking to 19th overall and third in the Big Ten behind Ohio State and Penn State. And to make matters worse for the Wolverines, they also lost out on the nation’s top offensive tackle, Nicholas Petit-Frere who committed to arch-rival Ohio State.

Despite though having Reese committed since 2016, Michigan may have had an uphill battle in holding onto the coveted linebacking recruit. Namely because the kid is from Georgia, Kirby Smart has been on a tear this recruiting season and the Bulldogs were on the cusp of a National Championship.

If they (Georgia) are interested. You’re going to listen, especially this offseason.
