Michigan will play at North Carolina during ACC/Big Ten challenge

As part of next season’s ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Michigan will travel to North Carolina to take on the defending champion Tar Heels according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.

Next season’s contest will mark the first time either team will play each other since the infamous Chris Webber timeout game where North Carolina would go on to down the Wolverines 77-71 in the National Championship from the Superdome.

In term’s of next year’s matchup, the Tar Heels once again will be considered a top ten team heading into the season despite losing four of their top five scorers. Returning from last April’s Championship squad include Joel Berry, Kenny Williams, Theo Pinson and Luke Maye as well as a top 20 recruiting class. North Carolina will also welcome Pittsburgh transfer Cameron Johnson who many consider the best graduate transfer in the country.

In addition to enacting some revenge on the Tar Heels for the Webber 93′ game, Michigan will also like to begin improving on their 7-9 all-time ACC/Big Ten Challenge record. This also includes last year’s home loss to Virginia Tech.
