Former Michigan RB Mike Hart makes his return to Michigan Stadium this Saturday, however it won’t be with the Wolverines, this time it will be as a coach for the Eastern Michigan.

Mike Hart, Michigan’s all-time leading rusher accepted a coaching job with Eastern after his NFL career came to an end with the Indianapolis Colts. Hart becomes reunited with former Michigan defensive coordinator Ron English (who was U-M’s DC while Hart was there) who is currently the head coach of EMU.

But if you think Hart is going to be awe-struck going in and coaching against his former team, you may be mistaken.

“Honestly, I have a job to do,” said Hart, who will be in the team’s press box booth Saturday. “So I think once you get in there, I’m so focused on the task at hand that I probably really won’t notice. When I walk in it might be, ‘Whoa, I’m on the other sideline,’ but I’ve got a job to do.”

In fact, the former Michigan RB who also made headlines by referring to Michigan State as “little brother” says he doesn’t cheer for the Maize and Blue anymore…
“I’m committed to this team. I’m glad I’m here. I want to be here. I’m enjoying it here. I’m learning it a lot.

“This is who I am. I am Eastern Michigan. I coach at Eastern Michigan. I want Eastern Michigan to win every game. I don’t cheer for Michigan ever anymore. I watch the game and I watch as a coach trying to see what they’re going to do.”

As far as him saying he doesn’t cheer for Michigan anymore, I find that kind of hard to believe considering he said he would like this road to eventually lead them into a job at Michigan. But I understand what he said considering he’s at Eastern now, I’m just not quite sure he had to say it.
