Are the days as Michigan head coach numbered for Jim Harbaugh?
According to Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, NFL teams will be looking to hire Harbaugh this offseason after a tremendously successful second season with the Wolverines that’s yielded a 9-0 record thus far.
I keep hearing several teams are going to make the Michigan coach mega-offers. He won’t take them. Harbaugh isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. I don’t care if he’s offered a trillion dollars, a starship and a Cuban cigar. Harbaugh. Is. Not. Leaving.
That won’t stop teams from trying.
Obviously rumors aren’t certainties and in this case it would seem the general feeling is Harbaugh returning to the NFL this offseason is a long-shot.
However this is something Michigan fans will have to get use to when it comes to Harbaugh. There’s always going to be teams in the NFL courting him especially if he continues to have success and if the NFL’s product continues to be garbage. Currently there’s only 13 of the 32 teams in the NFL above .500 so you have to figure there’s going to be a lot of coaching changes in the offseason.
Remember too, Harbaugh had his chance to continue in the NFL after San Francisco and he ended up choosing the Wolverines instead.
But that doesn’t mean he won’t eventually return to the NFL, which I think he will at some point despite his style being more suited for the college game.
Unless he’s blown away by some outrageous, Michigan fans shouldn’t have anything to worry about regarding Harbaugh this offseason.
