With the departure of Darius Morris to the NBA, Michigan basketball will have to rely on freshman Trey Burke in order to repeat the success they had last season. Carlton Brundidge may also get some looks running the point however of the two freshman guards, Brundidge is seen more as a shooting guard than a point guard.

Recently Michigan’s trusty senior guard Stu Douglass had some interesting things to say about Burke, and what fans can expect out out of the highly touted point guard in 2011-12.

“Very good, very skilled with the ball, very confident with the ball and that’s something I know I struggled with my freshman year,” Douglas told Rob White of isportsweb.com. “I don’t see any problem with him or Carlton being confident with the ball in their hand. That will be huge for us especially in the Big Ten with pressure teams like Purdue. Trey is a tremendous shooter, a lot better shooter than I thought. He can play very well.
