Wolverines get commitment from Rashad Weaver

The Wolverines picked up a verbal commitment from Cooper City, Florida’s Rashad Weaver who made his intentions known on Twitter.

The 6-5, 245 lb. Weaver reportedly chose Michigan over Syracuse and Illinois among nine offers altogether.

Weaver informed Michigan via a phone call to head coach Jim Harbaugh around 4:45PM ET who apparently made the coach’s day.

“He gave me almost a full yell,” Weaver said. “He was ecstatic.”

Apparently though it wasn’t football though that attracted Weaver to Michigan… it was it’s academic programs first. Okay.

“First and foremost the academics,” Weaver said. “Football compliments academics so they have the best of both there since their football program is good, too.”

Anyways, it’s anticipated Weaver will play either tight end or defense end for Michigan once his college career gets underway.
