Ever since 2007, Ryan Grant has been considered the starting running back for the Green Bay Packers, when he’s healthy of course.

However, the oft-injured running back may be at the end of the road in Green Bay.

According to ProFootballTalk.com who cites a Tom Silverstein of the Journal Sentinel, Ryan Grant is in danger of losing his job to Dimitri Nance, whom the Packers picked up to replace Grant last season.

Furthermore, Green Bay running-backs James Starks, Alex Green and John Kuhn are all locks to make the team with Grant being the odd man out.

PFT points out that it may initially be hard to imagine Green Bay without Grant who rushed for 1,200 yards in both 2008 and 2009 however they did prove that they can certainly win without him. It’s important to note as well that Grant’s base salary is $3.5 million while Nance’s salary is $525,000.

When’s it’s put like that, it’s probably smart of Green Bay not to retain Grant.
