Instead of making a big free agent splash at the cornerback position, the Lions instead re-signed one of their own.

According to various reports, including Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com, the Lions signed CB Chris Houston. The deal is reportedly for 2 years at $6 million dollars.

The Lions were looking to upgrade at cornerback and were rumored to be in on free agents such as Nnamdi Asomugha and Jonathan Joseph. However the Lions also probably weren’t looking to break the bank given the other holes on the roster they had to fill.

Smith believes that with the signing of Eric Wright last week, the Lions may be done signing free agent corners.
