Michigan State blows past Miami

Michigan State

For the first 10 minutes of tonight’s game, Michigan State looked every bit the team that underwhelmed and underachieved to the point of almost missing the NCAA Tournament.

Then they flipped the switch and became the team everyone expected they’d be prior to the start of the season.

Down 12 early, the Spartans realized it was March and woke up in miraculous way to blowout No. 9 Miami 78-58 and dominate the Hurricanes in almost every way.

Pounding the glass 34/18, Michigan State followed up their game in the paint by putting together a solid night from the field shooting .566 while making the most out of their attempts from the line (12/14).

Nick Ward led all scorers with 19 points while Miles Bridges and Joshua Langford finished with 18 and 13 points respectively. Bridges in fact was an assist away from a double-double in his first postseason college came.

Up 38-27 at the half, Michigan State exploded once again offensively in the second adding 40 points to their first half total. The Spartans will not go on to play No. 1 Kansas Sunday in round two from Tulsa.
