Michigan State scored a victory on the recruiting trail Friday as four-star forward Marcus Bingham Jr.  committed to the University as part of its 2018 class.

Standing at 6-foot-10 and 195-pounds, Bingham (Grand Rapids) is the second ranked player in the state of Michigan and the 79th best player in the country.

Bingham’s rise within the State is really pretty spectacular.

Having only played two years of varsity basketball, according to Mlive Bingham has grown eight inches over the past two seasons which not to sounds creepy as hell considering we’re dealing with a high schooler, that’s pretty impressive in a basketball sense. Last year he was also only eligible for half the season after transferring from Ottawa Hills to Grand Rapids Catholic Central yet was still able to garner All-State honorable mention honors.

In total, the Spartans now have four commitments to the 2018 class including Bingham who joins point guard Foster Loyer and forwards Gabe Brown and Thomas Kithier.
