Michigan State secured another four-star recruit or their 2018 when it was announced that wide receiver Joseph Scates out of Dayton, Ohio would commit to the Spartans.

Scates, is the sixth best prospect in Ohio and the 25th best wide receiver in the county according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He also went with Michigan State over Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, Pitt, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest among others.
The 6-foot-3, 175 pound Scates is the second recruit and second four-star to commit to the Spartans for the 2018 class behind athlete Xavier Henderson. Michigan State may also be on a slightly better track in a still very early 2018 recruiting season when you consider the less than desirable 2017 class they’re probably going to turn in.
