Kirk Cousins, Kyler Elsworth receive Big Ten weekly honors

The honors this week for Kirk Cousins keep rolling in. The Big Ten announced Monday that Cousins would be the conference’s co-offensive player of the week. Cousins was 22-of-31 passing for 290 yards and three touchdowns, including a game-winning pass as time expired in a win over Wisconsin Saturday night.

Cousins shared his offensive player of the week honor with Iowa wide receiver Marvin McNutt, who set the Iowa career record for TD receptions while catching three against Indiana.

Kyler Elsworth was named the Big Ten’s special teams player of the week after he blocked a Wisconsin punt in the closing seconds of the first half Saturday night. The blocked punt ended up turning into a touchdown for Michigan State who went on to beat the Badgers 37-31 handing them their first loss.
