Michigan State announced their three captains for the 2011 football season.

According to Greg Johnson of the Grand Rapids Press, Kirk Cousins, Joel Foreman and Trenton Robinson will the team’s captains as fall camp wrapped up Thursday.

Head coach Mark Dantonio, who has returned after being with his father in Ohio, was very much in favor of the selections…

“They’ve not only had success, but they’ve also been on the other side of the fence a little bit in terms of having to battle through some adverse situations in their lives,” he said. “When you pick leaders, as I told our football team this morning, you need to find people who have gone through difficult times and have been able to move forward in a positive manner. I think they will be great leaders for us.”

Cousins said he was humbled and honored to be picked yet again as one of the team’s captains.

“I’m thankful for my teammates, and I think they made a great selection in selecting Joel and Trenton as well,” he said. “They were wise, wise decisions by my teammates”

Cousins was really a no-brainer based off of Cousins leadership in the past.
