Michigan State coaches aren’t going to be sitting at home during the off weekend, they are hitting the road to recruit.

Going into 2012 the Spartans have 14 total commitments and are likely to add at least 5 more to match their scholarship allotment for the 2012 class. Coaches will also be looking to shop for the 2013 class as well.

Some names that are being looked at include Middletown, Ohio, junior quarterback Jalin Marshall, Columbus Walnut Ridge wide receiver Rob Wheelright, Cadillac junior offensive tackle Riley Norman and McKinley High defensive end Se’Von Pittman.

Quarterback coach Dave Warner recently visited Spartan QB commitment Tyler O’Connor’s game. O’Connor plays for Lima Catholic High School who was alos in the stands this past weekend for the Michigan-State/Ohio State game at the Horse Shoe…

“In the Ohio State section I was wearing my Spartan green,” O’Connor told 247.com. “My dad and I were the only ones cheering when Michigan State made plays and it was great to see Ohio State get beat, obviously.”

O’Connor’s high school team is 6-0 and the offense is averaging 42 points per game.
