Expectations are high in East Lansing for Michigan State football going into the 2011 season. This is especially considering the spectacular 11-2 season the Spartans saw in 2011 in which they won a share of the Big Ten title with Wisconsin.

I fully expect the Spartans to come out in 2011 and have another fine season, however talk of another Big Ten title needs to tempered until the team figures out what exactly is going to happen with the offensive line. There’s currently three position battles among the five positions on the line. The guard position is set with center and tackle being the only question marks.

Dana Gauruder of CBS Sports talks about the civil war within the trenches for Michigan State. Travis Jackson and Blake Treadwell are vying to start at center. Skyler Burkland and Fou Fonoti are battling at right tackle. and Dan France and Jared McGaha are both attempting to man the blindside.
