One of the Detroit’s big two newspapers The Detroit Free Press had some Spartan fans going early Wednesday morning.

Free Press sports blogger Steve Schrader was asking whether or not a photoshopped image of what appeared to be the Spartans Pro Combat uniforms that they will be wearing on October 15th against in-state rival Michigan.

The MSU Athletic Department was quick however to squash all rumors about the photoshopped jerseys…

“It’s definitely not,” said Associate Athletic Director John Lewandowski. “People will just have to wait for the official announcement, sometime after Labor Day.”

Schrader went onto say though that a member of the Downtown Coaches Club circulated the photoshopped image to a number of MSU supporters who said the image resembles the uniforms that MSU will use when they take on U-M.

The image reportedly was created by Spartan Tailgate forum user Hunter Stair admitted to Photoshopping the image and publishing the rendered photo on Spartan Tailgate’s Red Cedar Message Board July 23.
